Lunt Capital Management, Inc. is a Utah-based, independent investment advisor registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Lunt Capital offers a variety of unique, rules-based, tactically managed investment strategies for a range of  investment objectives, from conservative to aggressive. These investment strategies are available to individual investors as well as third-party asset management solutions to financial advisors.

Lunt Capital seeks to add value to investment portfolios through the tactical management of investments across asset classes. We use cost effective, transparent, liquid ETFs as the primary building blocks of our portfolios.

While diversification is an accepted and important investment pillar, Lunt Capital dives deeper into sub-assets to identify and exploit return disparities among the sub-components of broad asset classes. We also diversify across time frames and tactical rotation strategies.

Management Bios

John is the President and Founder of Lunt Capital Management, Inc.  Lunt Capital has created a variety of dynamic investment strategies used by financial advisors around the country.  Lunt Capital has built custom indices calculated by S&P Dow Jones Indices and by Nasdaq Global Indexes that are used as the engines in ETFs, separate accounts, and model portfolios.  He is a charter member of the ETF Strategists Roundtable and is a regular contributor at ETFTrends.com.  John and Lunt Capital are featured as a case study in the book ETF Investment Strategies.  John has visited more than 35 countries, and Lunt Capital’s Investment Trek featured meetings and reports with market, economic, and political leaders around the world.  From 2001 to 2014, he served on the board of Utah Retirement Systems, a $20 + billion pension fund.  John is the former Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee for the $19 billion My529 and served for eight years on the board of trustees for the multi-billion-dollar Utah School & Institutional Trust Funds Office.  He formerly worked on the Washington, D.C. staff of U.S. Senator Robert Bennett.  John graduated Magna Cum Laude with University Honors from Brigham Young University with a degree in Economics, and he later received an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University. 

Ryan is a partner and the Chief Operating Officer of Lunt Capital.  Ryan leverages his diverse operational experience and quantitative skills to help Lunt Capital thrive.  Ryan has extensive experience with financial modeling, investment index construction, market research, and quantitative analysis.  Ryan served for eight years as a trustee and board president of Utah Retirement Systems ($40b+ pension plan) and PEHP Health & Benefits.  Ryan also served as VP Finance & Strategic Insights for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which has raised over $5 billion for 170 children’s hospitals throughout North America.  He was responsible for overseeing the organization’s endowments, pensions, and investment portfolios.  He led a cross-functional team responsible for capturing, analyzing, and reporting all performance metrics for the organization.  Ryan excelled as a Finance professor and Director of the Center for Financial Analysis at Westminster University.  He served as a trustee for Westminster University, including roles on the Investment Committee and Finance & Operations Committee.  Ryan has travelled extensively to more than 45 countries and actively seeks new experiences and diverse perspectives.  Ryan graduated with a degree in Political Science from the University of Utah and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from Westminster University.
